Our Vision
The South Florida Times is an award-winning newspaper that is designed to “Elevate the Dialogue” throughout the African Diaspora. We will change the conversation in our community by providing an in-depth analysis of events that occur anywhere in the world and thereby establish their relevance to the life and culture of our people. We will ensure that principles of integrity, journalism, and truth are maximized in each word that is written and in each act that is undertaken. Through these means we will positively affect the lives of people from within the Diaspora and we will illuminate for those outside an accurate portrayal of our culture and our lives.

Who We Are
The South Florida Times is the most influential weekly newspaper in
South Florida serving the African-American and Caribbean community. The South Florida Times is the primary source for mainstream media in gauging the pulse of the urban community. In fact, news stories about or from the South Florida Times have appeared in the Washington Post, New York Times, Miami Herald, Sun-Sentinel, St. Petersburg Times and other major dailies across the country. No other weekly newspaper in South Florida has garnered such notoriety. It’s the weekly the dailies read. It’s the paper people talk about, quote and read in political, social and business circles in South Florida
.

Our Readers
Each and every week we deliver 25,000 papers which are read by over 80,000 people throughout our community. Our distribution channels include newsracks, restaurants, small businesses, libraries, colleges and schools, subscriptions, targeted home delivery, and bulk deliveries to African-American and
Caribbean Churches throughout Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties. South Florida Times can now be found in Publix Supermarkets, Winn Dixie Stores and other major retail outlets.

Your Market
Today, people of the black and caribbean community represent nearly 30 percent of the residents living in
Broward County. Broward’s black population has increased by 70,000 additional black residents since the 2000 Census, raising the total number to over 450,000. This has made Broward the county with the fastest growing population of Blacks in Florida. Broward also has the second fastest growing Black population in the country behind only New York.

This presents a phenomena-marketing opportunity for savvy business executives to reach black consumers in Broward, Miami-Dade and
Palm Beach
counties. Black buying power in the tri-county area will surpass $25 billion dollars in 2008. For most, it represents a fertile, untapped customer ripe for increasing business. From financial services, home improvement, entertainment, retail, health, fast food, to tourism and event marketing – the South Florida Times can deliver added value to the corporate executive charged with maximizing market share and growing profits for their company.
